About us

One person, one fridge, one app.

Bouff'app is a personal project: shopping trips, a pantry at home, meal ideas, and shared lists, without ads or a cloud middleman.

Why it exists

Shopping receipts pile up and prices move every week. I wanted to see, product by product, how much I really spend and where it is cheaper, without handing that data to a shopping app that sells it.

So I built the tool I wanted: scan as you shop, read the receipt, stock the pantry, plan a few meals, and share lists with family using a private code. Once it worked for me, I opened it to friends.

How it is made

  • It runs on a server at home: no cloud, no ads, no investors.
  • Product facts come from Open Food Facts, a free and open food database.
  • It is built in my spare time, with care, one feature at a time.

What you can do

More than a scanner

The app grew from a shopping log into something you can use all week: what is in the fridge, what to cook, and who you share with.

  • Pantry

Trips and receipts feed what you have at home. Expiry reminders and low-stock marks help you buy only what you need.

  • Cook tonight

Simple meal ideas from your pantry, prioritising food that should be eaten soon. Mark a meal cooked to update quantities.

  • Meal plan

Slot meals on the next seven days, then add every missing ingredient to your default shopping list in one go.

  • Shopping lists

Estimate a run from past prices, pin a default list, and tick items off while you scan in store.

  • Private sharing

Share a list or pantry with nickname#tag or a QR code. Lookups need the full code, not your nickname alone.

  • In-store scanning

USB scanner or phone camera, with receipts when you prefer a photo of the till slip.
